Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Bite for use of the app. Please read them. By using Bite, you agree to them.
Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Bite mobile app and this website (together, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The service
Bite is an AI meal-planning app. It proposes meals based on the preferences you provide and builds shopping lists to match. Bite is a planning and convenience tool. It does not prepare, sell, or deliver food, and it does not provide nutritional, dietary, or medical advice.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use Bite, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. Bite creates an anonymous account for you automatically, so you can use it without signing up; signing in is optional and lets you sync across devices — you can sign in with Apple or link an email address. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to your device secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Subscriptions and billing
Bite offers paid subscriptions. Current pricing is £4.99 per week or £6.99 per month. Prices may vary by region and may change over time; the price shown in the App Store at purchase applies.
- Billing is handled by Apple. All purchases are made through your Apple ID and the App Store. We never see or store your payment details.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple ID is charged on renewal.
- Managing and cancelling. You manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings, not inside Bite. See the Support page for steps.
- One-time purchases. Bite may also offer optional one-time purchases, such as a top-up of extra meal swaps. These are not subscriptions and do not renew.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are subject to Apple's policies and are requested through Apple, not Bite.
Meal suggestions and allergies
Meal suggestions and ingredient lists are generated by AI and are provided for convenience only. They may be inaccurate or incomplete, including about ingredients, preparation, and allergens.
You are responsible for checking that any meal is safe and suitable for you. If you have a food allergy, intolerance, medical condition, or specific dietary need, verify every ingredient yourself and consult a qualified professional where appropriate. Do not rely on Bite as your only source of allergen or nutritional information.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service unlawfully or for any unlawful purpose.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying models or data, except to the extent the law expressly permits.
- Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or its security features.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
Intellectual property
The Service, including the Bite name, logo, design, and software, is owned by Bite and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial meal planning. The preferences and data you enter remain yours; you grant us the permissions needed to operate the Service as described in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
Bite relies on services from Apple, Google (Firebase), RevenueCat, and our AI processing provider. Your use of the App Store is also subject to Apple's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control. Supermarket names and logos shown in the app or on this site are the property of their respective owners and are used only to indicate where a shopping list can be organised for; this does not imply any partnership or endorsement.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that suggestions will be accurate, suitable, or uninterrupted.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Bite is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or £50. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Termination
You can stop using Bite and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if we stop offering the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your home country's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Bite after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
